the_empire_shall_fall_-_awaken_coverΠρώην τραγουδιστής των Killswitch Engage αναζητά μέλη για μπάντα. Κάπως έτσι θα ήταν η αγγελία του εν λόγω κυρίου. Μετά τους rockάδες Seemless ο Jesse Leach δημιουργεί το 2008 τους The Empire Shall Fall μαζί με τους Jake Davenport, Marcus DeLisle, Nick Sollecito και Jeff Pitt. Metalcore μπάντα που κινείται στα χνάρια των Killswitch Engage. Ο δίσκος λέει πολλά. Χώνει αλύπητα, έχει μελωδίες, καθαρά μέχρι death φωνητικά, progressive, jazz και flamenco(!) στοιχεία, άψογη εκτέλεση των κομματιών (με την καλή έννοια!) και συνθετικά δεν σε αφήνει σε ησυχία με την έννοια πως οι αλλαγές μέσα στα τραγούδια είναι αρκετές, έξυπνες και χωρίς να σε κουράζουν. Η σύγκριση με τους Killswitch Engage είναι αναμενόμενη καθώς μουσικά κινούνται στα ίδια μονοπάτια. Θα τολμήσω και θα πω πως οι TΕSF ίσως είναι λίγο καλύτεροι. Πιστεύω πως σε όποιον αρέσουν έστω και λίγο οι KSE πρέπει οπωσδήποτε να ακούσει τούτη εδώ την μπάντα. Έχει πολύ καλά στοιχεία και το προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα στους fan του metalcore.
