benighted_coverΗ Γαλλική metal σκηνή έχει γίνει πλέον από τις μεγαλύτερες στον κόσμο και θα μπορούσα να ξεστομίσω ότι συναγωνίζεται άνετα την γερμανική, σκανδιναβική και αμερικάνικη σχολή. Κυρίως στον extreme χώρο παρατηρούμε αυτό το φαινόμενο και έρχονται οι Benighted με το 6ο κατά σειρά άλμπουμ τους να μας το αποδείξουν ξανά. Brutal death metal/Grindcore όπως το ακούσαμε στο Icon αλλά ένα βήμα παραπέρα αναπτύσσοντας ξανά τις σχιζοφρενικές αλλαγές στους ρυθμούς και στις ταχύτητες, τα σκισμένα φωνητικά σε πολυπρόσωπες μορφές με κλασσικά growls, squeals και grunts να σε τρελαίνουν και τα grindcore στοιχεία να μην λείπουν από τα drum beats. Εκλεπτυσμένη δουλειά στις κιθάρες με τις natural harmonics να στολίζουν αρκετά συχνά τα riffs και το δαιμονισμένο μπάσο να γεμίζει ασφυκτικά τα πάντα με τα γρυλίσματά του. Break downs και δισολίες δεν λείπουν από το άλμπουμ καθώς και low tempo parts, ακόμη και scratch-άρισμα σε pick up στο Drowning! Οπαδοί του grindcore θα το λατρέψουν, οπαδοί του σκληροπυρηνικού brutal death νομίζω ότι θα το εκτιμήσουν απλά.
