ilium_geneticmemoryΤο άμεσο και χειμαρρώδες hard’n’heavy των Ilium λοξοκοιτάζει διαρκώς προς το power και τραβάει τη προσοχή του ακροατή από τις πρώτες κιόλας νότες. Οι Aυστραλοί (!!!) στο 5ο τους άλμπουμ διαθέτουν άσσο στο μανίκι που ονομάζεται Mike DiMeo (Riot, Masterplan). Φυσικά από μόνο του κάτι τέτοιο δεν φτάνει και στην περίπτωση των Ilium ευτυχώς οι συνθέσεις μιλάνε από μόνες τους. Είναι ηλίου φαεινότερο πως η μπάντα ξέρει πώς να γράψει καλά τραγούδια για το είδος χωρίς να καταντάει κουραστική και επαναλήψιμη. Τα κομμάτια είναι άκρως μελωδικά με φοβερές ρυθμικές και δισολίες, πλήκτρα που συμπληρώνουν χωρίς να προσπαθούν να κλέψουν την παράσταση και φυσικά οι φωνητικές γραμμές είναι καταπληκτικές με τον DiMeo να δίνει ρέστα. Το άλμπουμ μου θυμίζει την νοοτροπία του Inishmore των Riot χωρίς τα folk στοιχεία αυτού. Οι φαν του συγκεκριμένου ήχου σπεύσατε ταχέως.
