scalethesummit_carvingdesertcanyonsΗ δεύτερη ολοκληρωμένη δουλειά των Scale The Summit είναι γεγονός. Η μπάντα από το Τέξας συνεχίζει δημιουργικά προχωρώντας ένα βήμα παραπέρα από τον προηγούμενο δίσκο της, τόσο από άποψη σύνθεσης, όσο και από άποψη παραγωγής. Το Carving Desert Canyons είναι ένα αρκετά καλό album διάρκειας 40 λεπτών. Αποτελείται από οκτώ instrumental κομμάτια που ο ήχος τους κινείται στον χώρο της progressive και είναι επηρεασμένος από διάφορους γνωστούς βιρτουόζους μουσικούς. Έχει γίνει πολύ καλή δουλειά τόσο στις κιθάρες, όσο και στο μπάσο και τα drums. Τα κομμάτια τους είναι μελωδικά, αρκετά πολύπλοκα και πλούσια σε εναλλαγές. Δεν ξεφεύγουν από τα συνηθισμένα του είδους, αλλά έχουν την δύναμη να σε κάνουν να ταξιδέψεις νοερά ακούγοντάς τα. Το μόνο μειονέκτημα είναι ότι μετά από κάποια ώρα είναι πιθανό να σου αφήσουν την αίσθηση ότι επαναλαμβάνονται και να κουράσουν λίγο. Σίγουρα πάντως είναι μία αρκετά καλή επιλογή για όσους αρέσκονται στον progressive ήχο.
